Mozart’s
Magnificent Voyage, whose creation flourished from Susan Hammond’s best selling
children’s stories, is a dynamic force and influence in the classical music
circuit. The focus of this child-centered drama is to revive Mozart’s classical
masterpieces with a blend of spectacular music and exciting theatre that retells
his life using historical facts. Mozart's young son, Karl, longs to leave his
boarding school to spend more time with his famous father. His wish is fulfilled
when Wolfgang Amadeus takes him to a performance of the Magic Flute. This true
father-son event gives Karl a chance to understand Mozart's extraordinary life
as a traveling prodigy, his pressures from family and fame, his passion for
composing and the common bonds they both share. In the end, the son realizes
that he is well loved and that, although his father will die an early death just
two months later, he will always have him by his side through his timeless
music. Many professional orchestras, such as the Chicago Symphony, Kennedy
Center’s National Symphony, and the Toronto Symphony, have performed this
Classical Kids LIVE production.
The
impact Classical Kids LIVE has made on classical music and the world is just as
impressive as their well-earned accolades. With an Emmy award winning television
special in the United States, six Juno Awards, five Gold Records and three
Platinum Records in Canada; Classical Kids LIVE continues to gain critical
acclaim nationwide. Entertainment Weekly confirms that “nobody does it better
than Classical Kids.” As a recipient of Billboard Magazine's International
Achievement Award, Susan Hammond maintains that their core is simply “wonderful
stories filled with best-known, best-loved music.” |
