Percussion Ensemble, excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s The Snowmaiden and The Nutcracker, as well as an interactive sing along of familiar holiday
favorites. Simply stated, Holiday Jubilee is a symphonic conception of holiday
music from around the world. “I felt it was necessary to collaborate with as
many people and organizations in the region as possible,” Theodore Kuchar, Music
Director of the Fresno Philharmonic says, “The concept of the Holiday Concert
was an innovation of nearly three hundred colleagues, which complement the
Fresno Philharmonic in this extravaganza. Indeed, without the many hours of hard
work and support of Dr. Anna Hamre and Julie Dana, this weekend would not be
possible.”
As Director of Choral Activities at California State University Fresno, Dr. Anna
Hamre is in demand as a conductor, clinician, and adjudicator. Julie Dana is
Director of Choral Activities and Voice at Fresno City College where she
conducts the City Singers, Symphonic Choir, Fresno Chorale and teaches Music
Appreciation. Julie’s experience and commitment to the choral art often takes
her beyond her daily teaching duties as she serves as Vice-President of the
California American Choral Directors Association.
Under the baton of Music Director Theodore Kuchar, the Fresno Philharmonic has
become one of the leading American regional orchestras, and has welcomed in
recent years leading guest artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Sarah Chang, the
Canadian Brass, and Lynn Harrell. In service to residents of the San Joaquin
Valley, the Fresno Philharmonic strives to present great music that enriches
lives, inspires passion for classical music, connects audiences to history,
preserves tradition and celebrates creative genius. |
